Woman smiling after a dental exam at Perrinville Family Dentistry in Edmonds, WAA healthy adult should have a total of 32 teeth. That's including your wisdom teeth. Most people have them removed during late adolescence. They are removed because of either lack of space or a reason such as decay. Each one of your teeth has a purpose. Your teeth are very import because they are the first step in aiding the digestion process. When you correctly chew your food, you will notice your saliva begin to flow. Saliva is crucial in helping break down the foods you eat.

There Are Signs and Experiences That Will Red Flag Degenerative Oral Health

You have three types of teeth in your mouth that assist the digestion process. They are your molars, incisors, and premolars. When your mouth becomes infected, you'll usually notice it first on the flesh usually, not your teeth. If you develop bleeding gums or gingivitis followed by bleeding gums, it is a telltale sign of problems in your intestines.

If you have developed a digestive problem, you should chew your food until it's almost a liquid. It will help take the pressure off your esophagus and digestive tract. Oddly enough, when experiencing a large amount of stress, it causes digestive problems. When you are stressed out, you may not even realize it. It can present itself in many ways.

The Bodily Effects of Poor Oral Health

If you experience any type of bleeding, abrasions, or lesions in the mouth, we need to see you so that bacteria do enter the bloodstream. If your immune system is not able to kill off the bacteria, it travels to your major organs. The bacteria can park itself in places like your heart or lungs. Many other issues in the body can happen. Our office is here to help. If you are experiencing any of the mentioned oral issues, please give us a call at (425) 616-0620 to set up an appointment. Even if you just have something small bothering you, it's better to address it early before it develops into something expensive and negative for your overall health.
